Business Description
OCFC Global Aviation Academy is the India arm of Orange County Flight Center, an FAA Part 141 approved flight school established in 1981 at John Wayne Airport, Orange County, California.
For over four decades, Orange County Flight Center has trained pilots in one of the busiest airspace environments in the United States - a commercial airport where students work with live air traffic control alongside airline traffic from their earliest lessons.
The academy's India programme is built around a hybrid structure. Students complete six months of ground school in India, preparing simultaneously for DGCA, FAA and EASA written examinations - a single course covering three regulatory pathways. On completion, students undertake their flying hours at Orange County Flight Center in California, at an affiliated institution, or at a flight school of their choosing anywhere in the world.
This structure addresses a specific inefficiency in international pilot training. Theoretical instruction does not require an aircraft, and completing it in India substantially reduces the cost base without compromising the qualification. Students who begin flight training with a strong theoretical foundation also progress faster in the aircraft, where every hour carries significant cost.
Programmes include Ground School, Private Pilot Licence, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Licence, Flight Instructor (CFI and CFII), Multi-Engine Rating, Type Rating, ATP-CTP and Aviation English. Education financing is available through Yes Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
OCFC Global Aviation Academy publishes free educational resources on pilot training in India, covering DGCA eligibility and examinations, medical certification, training costs and aviation career pathways.
