Travel tips for New Zealand passport holders

Most travellers depart from Auckland (AKL), Wellington (WLG) or Christchurch (CHC). Flights to Dubai usually involve a connection, often via Australia, Southeast Asia or the Middle East, so allow generous connection times and check each transit country’s entry rules.
Check your name spelling, including macrons in Māori names (such as ā, ē, ī, ō and ū), so it matches your passport exactly on every booking and application.
If you transit through Dubai only, check the transit rules for your passport and the length of your layover.
Carry printed copies of your visa approval, hotel booking and return ticket. Keep digital copies on your phone as well.
